The Adventures of Jack Traveler
About a year ago, I created a character named Jack Traveler. He's a 10-year old boy, ahead of his years, who with his loyal companion Kinook, accidentally steps through the boundary of our world and into the world of Vast; a boundless land of fantasy and danger where Kinook can speak, a rock can whisper you directions, and the only way home is to find a set of seven keys of which have been lost for thousands of years. The character is the subject of a series of vignettes, all written and illustrated in comic form, and laid out as one long cohesive story.
Considering that this blog is meant to cover series of vacations, outdoor excursions and weekend adventures, I thought it appropriate to use Jack's identity, with the idea in mind that as he and Kinook backpack their way across the world of Vast, searching endlessly for those lost keys home, I launch my own search for 'home' as well, in the midst of this vast, incredible world we live in. So much to explore and so little time...I might as well start somewhere.
